Can You Trust Your Supplier Of Wholesale Sunglasses?

Having trust and confidence in who you purchase wholesale sunglasses from is very important. If you are going to buy replica sunglasses from an online company you have to be certain that your company in question is reputable and deals only in legal replica sunglasses. Unfortunately, there have been some people or companies in the past that have tarnished this industry.

There are a few things you can do online to check out a company before you decide to buy from them.  These are quick and easy steps that anyone with a keyboard and a mouse can accomplish.

First, check out if they have a record with the Better Business Bureau.  The BBB keeps records on just about any business out there, whether it's a physical store or an online business.  You can easily navigate to the BBB's website and search for the URL of a company to see what the BBB has to say about them.  Do they have a record, and if so, is it good or bad?  Do they have a history of complaints?  And most importantly, what was the outcome of those complaints?  Companies that strive for an amicable resolution to disputes generally tend to be good companies to buy from.  Companies that have many complaints may not be the best supplier to buy from, nor are the companies that fail to respond to complaints.

Secondly, you can easily search Google for a company's reviews from other people.  This part can be tricky though; I have seen more than one site that is actually astroturfing for another.  If you're not familiar with the term "astroturfing" (or "sock-puppeting"), it's when a person or a company pretends to be someone else (usually an impartial 3rd party) and publishes positive information about themselves.  If you search for reviews on a company and find yourself on a blog or website with a glowing review, check out the rest of their site.  If you keep seeing a steady flow of links or positive remarks directed to one website, you may be dealing with an astroturfer.  Astroturfing is dishonest, and any company engaging in this is to be avoided because if they have to be shady about their business, what does that say about their product?

Along with searching for reviews about a company, searching for the business owner's name is also something you can try if you're still unsure.  If everything with them is on the up-and-up you should be OK.

Hopefully these tips can help you take the risk from buying from the wrong wholesaler.  And as always, if you have questions on finding the perfect supplier of wholesale sunglasses for you don't hesitate to get in contact with us and we'll do what we can to point you in the right direction.

Knock Off Designer Sunglasses

Knock off designer sunglasses are one of the most commonly used terms to describe sunglasses that imitate the designer brands.  The negative connotation associated with the words "knock off" are pretty undeserved when referring to most discount sunglasses.  These designer inspired shades look just like their expensive siblings but are very affordable.

Knock off designer sunglasses are hot!

Knock off designer sunglasses are hot!

Looking at the above image you can see that imitation sunglasses have the same great style that you would expect to find from the name brand designers such as Gucci or Louis Vuitton.  And chances are that the only one who will know that you're wearing knock off sunglasses are you.  Others will see the style of sunglasses you're wearing but won't notice the lack of a brand name.

Are Knock Off Designer Sunglasses Legal?

Some people question the legality of replica sunglasses and the simple answer is yes, they are legal 99% of the time.  If a pair of sunglasses don't violate any design patents or have a designer's name or logo on them then they are perfectly legal to buy or sell.  There are some less than reputable sources that will attempt to sell you fake sunglasses that carry someone else's trademark on them.  It may be difficult to discern if what you're buying is illegal or not so your best bet is to just play it safe and only buy from reputable and trusted sources.

Where To Find Replica Sunglasses

You can find replica designer sunglasses everywhere!  The easiest and most likely place to locate them is at your local mall.  I can't remember the last time I went into a mall and didn't see at least one vendor selling cheap sunglasses from a kiosk or mall cart.  Expect to pay around $10 - 15 for a stylish pair.

Drug stores and convenience stores are also well known vendors of imitation shades.  The style selection at these locations tend to be a little more restricted but you can easily find your perfect pair from locations such as these.

If all else fails you can always find knock off sunglasses online.  Run a quick search on Google and you'll see a listing of many different companies offering replicas for sale.  There is a much wider selection of styles available online and you can usually get your order shipped for free if you live in the States and purchase 2 or 3 pairs.

When shopping for sunglasses and you're looking for the best deal possible, don't overlook the knock off designer sunglasses.  Their prices can't be beat and their styles will give you the look you want!

The Secret To Getting The Best Deals On Wholesale Sunglasses

People always want to get the best deals on sunglasses and it is no different in the market of wholesale sunglasses.  The wholesale companies negotiate with the factories in China for better pricing, and if that's not possible then they often order from different factories where the pricing is better.  And if you play your cards right, you as the end customer can negotiate better pricing for yourselves as well.

It's no secret that the current economy has brought many businesses to their knees, if not wiped them out entirely.  These effects have been felt by wholesale sunglass distributors as well; many are reporting a distinct drop in sales.  While the current state of the economy is slightly disastrous, you can use this to leverage better pricing on your purchases.

Since sales are down, wholesalers are desperately trying to hold on to their existing customer base.  If you have a history of purchasing items from your supplier you can use your good history to your advantage.  By simply telling your supplier that you would like a discount on your purchases or you'll shop from someone else who will is often enough the easiest way to get an additional discount on your orders.

What you are doing by asking for a discount is not unethical or threatening; you are simply negotiating for a better price.  You are in business just the same as your supplier is and one of the universal laws of business is the bottom line.  I know this, you know this, and your supplier of wholesale sunglasses knows this.

You could be surprised at the effectiveness of calling your wholesale sunglass supplier and requesting a discount.  Just a short while ago when the economy was riding high, chances were good even then to call in and ask for a price break.  Now with the economy in the tank, the probability of getting a percentage off your purchase is very good!

Just one example of a better deal you can acquire is this: I know of one customer who had a good history with the sunglass wholesaler I worked with and he had a permanent discount on every order he placed irregardless of the amount purchased.  His discount percentage rivaled that of the best bulk discount most wholesalers offer.  Imagine all the money he saved and the extra purchasing power he had with that permanent discount in place.

The secret to the best deals on wholesale sunglasses is a phone call

In short, the secret to getting the best deals on wholesale sunglasses is just a phone call.  In these tough times your supplier is not going to want to lose you so they will often go to great lengths to keep you.  Try this out on your supplier if you want an even better deal!

What Happens When You Order Wholesale Sunglasses

Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes when you order wholesale sunglasses?  If so, then you are in luck as I am about to give you the breakdown of the steps that happen from the time you make your order online until your sunglasses arrive on your front porch.

I have been involved with the sunglass industry both as a retailer as well as a wholesaler, and I know full well the steps that are involved in this market.  Everything that I state from this point on is based on my experiences and may not be the same for every wholesale company.  To enhance the understanding of this process I will relate how this happens from my own personal standpoint.

After you enter in your credit card info online and click on "Submit", your order is then filed with any other orders that may have been placed.  Most online distributors of wholesale sunglasses run websites with some form of e-commerce software so this is a pretty streamlined process.

Your order will stay in queue until it is imported into our business accounting software (Quickbooks) and printed out.  Usually these orders are imported during the first hour of the business day unless business is slow.  If orders are slow then they will be imported as often as the warehouse workers need something to do.

Often times there are orders placed where further clarification is needed.  This is usually the case where the billing information of the credit card is wrong or when special instructions have been added to the order.  These orders are set aside to where someone can contact banks, credit card companies or the customer directly while the rest of the orders are sent out for fulfillment.

The orders that are free and clear are then placed in one of three bins in the warehouse: Air, International or Domestic, depending on the shipping method and priority.  All orders that are to be shipped via Air or International are filled first followed by the orders that are to be shipped domestically.

The warehouse workers will take the orders from the bins and then wander around the warehouse with shopping carts to fill those orders.  The dozen packages of sunglasses are added to their cart until the order is finished.  Then the worker will head to their packaging table and stage the individual dozen boxes on the table along with the printed order form.  Once this is done, a supervisor is called over to inspect the staged order for completeness and accuracy.

Once the order is signed off by someone else, the warehouse worker will select the appropriate sized shipping box and then fill that container with the customer's order.  After adding any necessary packing material, the box is then taped up, weighed, and then sent to the person responsible for shipping the order out.

When the person who does the shipping receives the completed package, he or she will take the weight and dimensions of the package and input them into the computer and print out a shipping label.  After the shipping label and receipt is attached to the outside of the package, it is then staged in an area awaiting the arrival of the shipping company.

When I worked for a certain wholesale company we were visited by our shipping company twice a day: once for packages meant for air shipping, and another for all other shipments.  Our air shipments would always pick up an hour or two before our ground shipments and these ground shipments always happened at the end of the working day.

Hopefully this sheds a little light on what happens behind the scenes when you order wholesale sunglasses from an internet company.  I know this description is brief, but if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask and I will answer them to my best ability.

Cheap Ed Hardy Sunglasses

I know that we recently posted on Ed Hardy sunglasses, but we feel that it is necessary to stress the importance of jumping on this huge fashion trend while it's hot!  Replica Ed Hardy sunglasses have been reported to be the styles that are the hardest to keep in stock, both from retailers and distributors.

It goes without saying that in order to profit from hot fashion trends you have to have the merchandise.  When certain styles get popular with customers then keeping them in stock can prove to be a difficult task.  Retailers run out of items and even your preferred wholesale supplier can run out as well.  When extremely popular styles get scarce, then you have to go outside your comfort zone to source them.

We here are all for having a great relationship with your wholesale supplier of knockoff sunglasses, but let's face it, you're in a business and if your primary supplier can't keep up with a spike in the demand, then you may have to temporarily buy from someone else.  This is not to mean that you end your business relationship with them; rather, it means that you are taking the necessary steps to capitalize on a money-making fashion trend.

This is why we're going to list some recommended suppliers of cheap Ed Hardy sunglasses that you can fall back on if your normal supplier is temporarily out of stock of these popular shades.  You can get some great replica Ed Hardy's from these distributors:

  • Sunrayzz Imports - These guys have some of the highest quality sunglasses that we've ever come across, and they have some great discounts to go with them.  At the time of this writing, they have several styles available at prices ranging from $22 - 24 per dozen.
  • LA Wholesale Distributors - This company is currently sporting a large selection of these tattoo sunglasses with prices ranging from $20 - 40 per dozen.  They also have kids sized sunglasses in this type.
  • Wholesale Sunglass USA - This company is offering many great styles of replica Ed Hardy sunglasses that are in the $28 - 32 range per dozen.  They have a $100 minimum order, so buying 4 dozen sunglasses would cover that requirement.
  • Majestic Eyewear - Another great supplier of wholesale sunglasses, offering knockoff tattoo sunglasses anywhere from $21 and up per dozen.  At this time they seem to offer the most styles that we've seen anywhere in this type.
  • HB Sunglass Company - Offering some styles that you won't see anywhere else, the prices range from $20 - 35 per dozen.  HB has no minimum order and their product quality is on par with some of the best stuff out there.

These are up to 5 alternate suppliers of cheap Ed Hardy sunglasses tha you can fall back on if your main distributor is out of stock, or doesn't carry the styles that you are after.  Knowing that you can get these popular sunglasses elsewhere will ensure that you don't lose money with this hot fashion trend!

Wholesale DG Sunglasses

wholesale dg sunglassesA popular style of designer eyewear that is always a consistent best seller are the line of DG sunglasses.   They are one of the most stocked styles that you will run across and they have the unusual ability to sell when other styles may be holding stagnant.

Wholesale DG sunglasses are economical

DG sunglasses are often thought of as economy designer sunglasses for several reasons.  The large array of styles in this line are desired by fashion conscious people and their low price appeals to a wider audience than that of the expensive designer sunglasses.  It is possible to purchase a pair of these shades retail for less than $10 if you search online, and probably for a little more if you find a local retailer.

Wholesale DG sunglasses are another matter; you can get amazing deals on these styles of discount sunglasses when you purchase them by the dozen.  Buying them by the dozen will reduce the per pair cost to around $3 which is an incredible price on a style like this.  If you're interested in purchasing them for personal use or for gifts, you can't beat these kinds of deals.

The discounted price on DG sunglasses when you buy in bulk provide the buyer with the opportunity to turn a profit when reselling them.  Paying $3 for a pair of these sunglasses and selling them for $10 - 15 will give provide some nice profits.  And designer DG sunglasses really sell themselves as they are one of the few types of discount eyewear that people are known to ask for by name.

Finding a source for wholesale DG sunglasses isn't really that difficult if you look online.  A quick Google search will show a few sites that sell this style in bulk and we here would recommend that you purchase them from either Sunrayzz Imports or from LA Wholesale.  We believe that you'll find their prices appealing and their quality to be superior than that of others.

The Best Selling Sunglasses Of 2009

best selling sunglassesIf you are going to be successful in retailing replica sunglasses, then you have to always be aware of the current fashion trends.  When you know what the current fads are with designer eyewear you can then make the correct decisions on what to stock in order to make more sales.

The best selling sunglasses are replica Ed Hardy's

Without a doubt, the best selling sunglasses of 2009 are the replica Ed Hardy sunglasses, or tatoo sunglasses.  These sunglasses with the colorful frames have burst onto the scene recently and are very popular with the under-30 crowd.  The designer Ed Hardy is known for a product line consisting of sunglasses, hats, shirts, etc. that are imprinted with the wildly popular "tatoo" designs that have now become highly sought after.

With designer labels come designer prices, and authentic Ed Hardy sunglasses can cost nearly $300.  This kind of price tag is out of reach for most people and so they resort to looking for replica sunglasses instead.  Replica Ed Hardy sunglasses, much like any other style of replica eyewear, make for an ideal replacement to the original item.

Many retailers are finding that customers unable or unwilling to pay the high price of authentic Ed Hardy sunglasses are more than willing to pay $10 - $20 for a pair of replica Ed Hardy sunglasses.  If you have been involved in this type of business for any amount of time, then you know that fashion trends come and go and the retailers who experience the most success are those who capitalize on these trends and capture the best selling sunglasses.  Be sure to offer this style of sunglass to your customers while the demand is hot and your sales and profits will shoot upwards.

Popular Retail Venues: State Fairs

selling sunglasses at fairs

State fairs or other kinds of festivals are a prime location to sell wholesale sunglasses.  In fact, a retail booth at a fair is quite possibly one of the most lucrative locations to sell replica sunglasses.  And there are several reasons for this.

First, fairs are home to a high amount of traffic.  People going to a fair always bring pocket fulls of cash with them to spend on food, rides, games, and anything that they see and want to buy.  Some of the larger fairs are known for having 100,000 people a day cruising through the fairgrounds.  This kind of traffic that passes by all the vendors at a fair mean greater chances of making sales.

Second, fairs are generally held during the warmer months of the year.  The bright sunshine and hot weather is conducive to selling sunglasses at fairs.  Get a booth full of sunglasses on a bright sunny day at the fair and you've got a recipe for success!

Selling sunglasses at fairs

If you are considering setting up a booth at a fair to sell sunglasses there are a few things you can do to increase your sales.  Some are simple tips that are easily implemented in your day to day routine, but one requires you working with the management of the fairgrounds.

When you contact the management group for the fairgrounds, do what you can to acquire booth space as close as possible to one of the entrances to the fair.  This is one of the most important things you can do! When you are positioned next to an entrance, you will be one of the first things that fairgoers see when they come in.  I can't tell you how many times I've sold sunglasses just for being located right next to an entrance.  Many times people will walk through the gates just to realize that they left their sunglasses on the dash of their car.  Rather than go back to fetch them, they spent a few dollars for a nice pair of replica sunglasses I had out on display.  Being located next to an entrance is prime real estate for sunglass vendors.

If you can't manage to get a location next to an entrance, spaces close to food courts are also a good choice.  Everyone raves about the food at fairs and flock to these areas.  Your booth being visible to this high traffic area should attract many people to come inspect your sunglasses.

How you display your sunglasses is important.  Since booth space at fairs is limited, you will want to maximize the amount of sunglasses you display in an efficient manner.  The most efficient way to display the maximum amount of sunglasses is to use the boxes your wholesale sunglasses came in.  These small boxes are ideal for fair environments.  You should be able to place 3 or 4 pairs of sunglasses on top of each display box.  By setting up a tiered or pyramid pattern with the boxes, you can easily display hundreds of sunglasses across your tables.  By displaying the maximum amount of styles you will increase your sales.

Another important but often overlooked thing to do is to keep your sunglasses clean and displayed neatly.  Just from being outdoors, the sunglasses you have on display will collect dust very quickly.  Add the fact that people browsing through your selection do not always place the sunglasses back exactly where they picked them up from and you can see how your neat and tidy booth can quickly become an unkempt disaster!  Make it a point to dust your sunglasses several times a day with a non-abrasive cleaning cloth such as microfiber pouches.  Keeping a constant vigil on the appearance of your display will make your sunglasses appear more attractive and will increase your sales.

By keeping a clean booth that displays many different wholesale sunglasses in a state fair it not uncommon to gross thousands of dollars a day in sales.  Follow the tips mentioned here and you can be assured of maximizing your profits from selling sunglasses at state fairs and festivals.

Wholesale Sunglasses In Canada

Canada has a strong market for replica sunglasses but only a few wholesalers actually reside in Canada.  If you are a Canadian resident then you would do well from purchasing wholesale sunglasses from a Canadian distributor as opposed to an American one.

The main reason you should seek out a supplier based in Canada is for the tremendous amount of savings you will incur from buying within Canada.  If a Canadian citizen buys from a US based wholesaler, there will be additional charges applied that only increase your total purchase price.  Added fees like international shipping charges, brokerage fees, duties, and GST (Goods and Services Tax) can add up to a lot and decrease your profits.  Plus there are the possible hassles with Customs.  Unless you are purchasing a totally unique item or are getting a really good deal it makes much more sense to purchase wholesale sunglasses in Canada.

There are a several wholesale sunglass distributors based in Canada to choose from.  Two companies you may want to look into are:

  • SunrayzzImports.com - This Canadian wholesaler is based in Vancouver, BC and has been in business selling wholesale sunglasses since 2002.  They have a large collection of replica designer styles and one of the nicest websites we've seen.  They offer competitive pricing and a 30 day money back guarantee.  Also, they make a good case for Canadian vendors to buy their sunglasses in Canada.  Of all the companies we've looked at that are located in Canada we would recommend SunrayzzImports as your supplier for wholesale sunglasses in Canada.
  • iVisionCanada.com - This company is located in Toronto, Ontario and has been marketing sunglasses for 14 years.  They provide a wide variety of replica sunglasses as well as sunglass accessories, sunglass displays as well as hats and jewelry.  With such a vast collection of sunglasses and other items this is one wholesaler worth checking out.

These are two Canadian suppliers of wholesale sunglasses that we would suggest you look into if you are a sunglass retailer in Canada.  Definitely investigate the price differences between buying product from a Canadian supplier vs. an American one.  You will probably find that buying wholesale sunglasses in Canada will make you much more profitable!
